The story of Lord PT and Lady Soniart
Once upon a time, till now, in a place a lot closer than you think, lives a noble man called Lord PT, who has a very beautiful friend named Lady Soniart.
Lady Soniart’s hair is as soft as clouds on a cool Harmattan morning, and her skin is as clear as a fresh calabash of spring water. She also has the cutest walk anyone in the kingdom has ever seen. She moves so lightly, so elegantly, as if the ground would cry if she stepped on it too hard.
But Lord PT faces a mighty dilemma. A very special occasion, M&G2, is coming up, and Lord PT dearly wishes to ask Lady Soniart to be his delectable girlfriend during this rare event. But alas, he has no idea how to ask her!
So Lord PT summoned his council of trusted advisors. First to speak was Counsellor Ajebaju. He said "My Lord! Why not simply send her a goat, with the message tied to its horns?"
Lord PT frowned. "That's ridiculous. Lady Soniart doesn't even like humans touching her with dirty hands, let alone animals touching her with dirty hooves!"
Next came Counsellor Wiriwiri. He said: "Ah! My Lord, what if you appear outside her window at midnight, singing her name with a choir of talking parrots?"
Lord PT sighed. "That's even worse. What if Lady Soniart thinks it’s a ghost and she starts crying or faints with fright?"
Then wise Counsellor Ologbonpo spoke. "Why not write your question on a lovely placard and present it, my Lord? Sometimes, simple things don’t need to be said in complicated ways."
Lord PT’s eyes lit up. "You are right, Counsellor Ologbonpo! But it must be grand still. I will carve the words myself, in my own handwriting, on the finest wood in the kingdom!"
So Lord PT went to the royal forest and chose a piece of precious mahogany.
He carved the words with great care: “Lady Soniart, will you be my delectable girlfriend for M&G2?”
Then, dressed in his finest robes, Lord PT mounted his noble steed and rode to Lady Soniart’s courtyard. When Lady Soniart saw the placard, her eyes widened, and then she began to blush.
